[New post] Catching Up: Cummer, European Street, Dockside, Bread and Board (again)

While I have been sketching in France - "a Sketcher in Provence" from the original name of this blog - my fellow sketchers have been busy in other places. They are a loyal and enthusiastic group, I will have to say. Thanks to Sandie and Mary for organizing, writing and collecting while I could not.
They sketched in the Cummer English Garden sitting in the coolest spot available, under a wisteria-covered pergola. From there they saw the river behind colorful blooms. The gardens have come a long way after being replanted after Hurricane Irene a few years ago. They had a nice lunch under the shelter oak afterwards.
Three Sketchers met at European Street on San Marco and enjoyed "a yummy display of cakes and a beer tasting bar stocked with a miriad of European beers. Wonderful Stash tea selection. Good deli food."
The last meetup was at Dockside, formerly Safe Harbor on Beach Blvd. It was a lovely day but very noisy inside. Just listen to the words of our resident poet, Sandie:
"The air was fresh, and the sky was blue! The seafood was tasty, but inside NOISE grew! So outside by the docks, we took our sketchbooks, and we drew and we painted in palm-shaded nooks. And I...... I gazed at the glorious sky."
And, while I'm catching up..... the group went to Bread and Board downtown some time ago, but I didn't. They all raved about it, so one day Mary and I went for lunch and a sketch. They were right. The food was very good - especially the bread. I had a chicken salad sandwich that was enough for both lunch and supper. And I always like a place with fresh flowers on the tables.
