Wading between the muck and magic of writing contests and submissions can be a messy job. Which ones are legitimate and which ones should we toss out? I haven't investigated every link on this list. And, as our world today is filled with unexpected surprises, I would encourage writers to delve deeper into any organization chosen before sending their work. However, this inventory might be a helpful stepping stone to get started, one that's already been given a quality onceover.
In fact, I did discover many of these contests take place annually, so they've been around for a long time. I've been told that's a good sign!
Although I have not jumped into the world of contests much myself, other than Moonbeam and the PNWA literary contests, having my hands on this rich starter list makes me wonder if I might explore more! 
As a writer who loves helping other writers, I hope this post finds you well and motivated to reach for the stars! As always though, I believe every writer is a winner just by taking the time to sit down and write.
