And if you're a teenager wanting to start reading, here's 7(coz that number's luckyy) recommendations for you to begin with. Just the right stuff to keep you hooked onto both the story and the habit of reading:
The Feluda Series by Satyajit Ray
Best parts about it- Lucid language, Comic relief in the midst of incredible plot twists, Great main and supporting characters
Set all over India, the Private Detective Feluda works through some mystery plots that are so incorrigible and yet easy to solve. Despite you age I assure you that you wouldn't be able to keep this book down without finishing it. From haunted houses, to robberies, to murders and even rebirths this series has everything. My personal favorites from the series are The Golden Fortress and The Bandits of Bombay.
2. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M Mc Manus
Amazingly-awesome plot+ Lovable suspicious characters+ totally unexpected ending= A perfect YA mystery novel.
Trust me, with this one you wouldn't wanna stop until the end. And after that you'd want more
3. The Sisterhood of Travelling Pants by Ann Brashares
This book is #love
Its so relatable and like the perfect depiction of teenage life. The prospect of the travelling pants is soo good, you'd want to have something like that with your friends. The four MCs are so different and so real. You gotta give this a try
4. Holding Up The Universe by Jeniffer Niven
Now I know you've all heard of All The Bright Places. What if I tell you that this book will be just as good without totally ruining you? Nice right?:D
This books talks about so many things that we-the whole teen population become offenders or victims of. This'll change the way you see the world, honestly.
5. Pollyanna by Eleanor H Porter
You always need a break from teen angst and ray of positivity helps. This is such a sweet, heartwarming book ah *clutches her heart*. It'll make you see the good in everything. EVERYTHING.
6. The Naughtiest Girl by Enid Blyton
You can't go wrong with Enid Blyton.
This is one of the funniest books I've read. Her antics and reactions, super good!
7. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West
The last one, a romcom.
I won't say much except the fact that this may not be a literary masterpiece but its such a feel good book. The male character is dreaaammmyyy(where are real life guys like him)
And that's all! I hope you try these out and readers recommend more books you think would be good for newbies!
