DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Foothill College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented Access & Information Services Librarian to further the mission of the Library to meet the evolving information needs of Foothill's diverse student population. Under the general supervision of the Dean of the Learning Resource Center, the Access & Information Services Librarian's responsibilities include:
· Coordinating with the Systems Librarian and Technical Services staff to maximize the LMS capabilities through original and complex cataloging, subject analysis, classification, authority control, and bibliographic maintenance, ensuring seamless access to library digital collections, including streaming videos, online periodicals, ebooks, e-reference, and e-reserves;
· Providing leadership in developing, administering, and assessing reference and research services with the goal of improving service to students both face to face and online;
· Helping grow the library's instruction program through the teaching of credit courses as well as library research workshops and orientations, both face to face and online.
· Additionally, collaborates with the team of librarians to coordinate effective strategies for the library's open-access initiatives; develop and maintain welcoming, innovative, and safe learning environments; and promote library events, services, resources, and programs via social media platforms.
· Standard duties of all librarians include providing reference service, serving as a liaison to one or more academic divisions, selecting and weeding library materials, and participating in division and department meetings.
Standard duties expected of all faculty include development and evaluation of curricula, maintaining scheduled office hours, attending department and division meetings, pursuing professional growth activities, service on district and/or college committees, and performing other duties consistent with the role of an instructor. Instructors also have the opportunity to participate in campus extra-curricular activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
2. Master's in library science, library and information science, OR the equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Services experience, including cataloging and working with technical services staff.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of cataloging, subject analysis, classification, authority control, and bibliographic maintenance and ability to apply those principles according to nationally recognized standards, including LC Classification, LCSH, MARC21, and RDA.
Experience using a bibliographic utility, preferably OCLC, and an integrated library system, preferably Ex Libris Alma.
Proficiency in database management, including authority control.
Experience in working cooperatively with library staff and faculty to promote the use of digital tools and resources
Working knowledge of current metadata standards and practices
Experience working with e-resources in a consortium or shared environment
Prior experience with ALMA and PRIMO, Link Resolvers, EZProxy, SUSHI, Open URL and COUNTER and other similar digital tools
Knowledge of and experience with emerging library trends and technologies, especially in technical services and reference.
Experience providing and assessing in-person and online reference services, preferably at an academic library.
Experience teaching instruction sessions or courses in Information Literacy in-person, online, and via video conferencing for a diverse student population.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate public outreach, marketing, and library programming.
Experience implementing innovative projects relating to Open Access and Open Educational Resource initiatives.

HIRING RANGE: $66,539.00 - $109,280.00 annually plus benefits; actual placement is based on applicant's verified education and experience.
