It was lovely to wake to the new year with an email from my dear friend letting me know that the Australian government has scrapped the requirement for international arrivals to quarantine as long as they are double-vaccinated. It felt like a burden lifted as the paperwork now becomes simpler and we don't have to immediately isolate ourselves from everyone on arrival in a new parish, delaying all those things we need to set up to begin life anew in Adelaide. Lots of up-in-the-air questions are now resolved. Hurrah!
