after cutting was supposed to come pasting-- as in pasting pattern pieces together-- but what actually ended up coming next, was tasting. tasting homemade baked goods, to be exact.
i finally got myself an oven recently after being without one for the past 16 years, ever since i moved back to japan. while an oven is a standard feature in an american kitchen, it's not so here and i've missed it a lot. so it's really nice to be able to bake again now, and it's been all about brownies, cookies, crisps, gratins, and now-- scones. i meant to photo them all decked out in cream and jam, but the tasting part... well, couldn't wait and all ten scones were gone in a flash. and there was only two of us.
just an excuse to bake a double batch next time, i suppose!

カット作業の後はペイスト（パターンの貼り合わせ）作業が来るはずだったのですが、実際にしたことは賞味（テースト）の方でした。それもベーキングした手作りおやつやお料理！
ずっと念願だったオーブン、最近になってやっと購入しました。アメリカでは当たり前のようにどの台所にもあるのですが、日本に戻ってきてからのここ16年間はオーブン料理ができなくて、物足りなさを感じていました。でもまた可能になった今はベーキング三昧。ブラウニーやクッキー、クリスプにグラタン、そして今回はスコーン。クリームやジャムで飾った写真を撮ろうと思っていたのですが。。。待てずにあっという間に10個とも食べてしまいました（笑）二人しか居ないというのに。
次回はダブルバッチを作った方がいいみたいです。
