the weather is grey and wet
it is a challenge to get in a daily walk without getting soaked
but the ducks are loving it
and the municipality is working on the creek
mushrooms are popping up everywhere - so far none are the dyeing kind
I've been avoiding the damp while sitting by the fire spinning
silk hankies or mawata are strong, in order to spin a fine yarn I tear them into pencil thin roving and wind them into a ball
three different fibre types all from the same colour way but they spun up slightly differently
at the top are the hankies
then the silk roving and finally the silk/wool blend
if you click on the picture you can clearly see the variations in colour and fibre
and there is still the silk/camel blend and the angora which I'll hand card with Merino wool and silk
I loved this package so much I've ordered it in a different colourway - as it may well keep raining!
