Hi friends! Last week when I was playing with ArtGraf Tailor Chalk I made a portrait in my sketchbook along with other drawings and several Critique Club members asked if I would film a video of it. I did and here is that portrait:

You can find a real-time narrated lesson of this project in Critique Club. Critique Club is a group I host in my Teachable School. Members pay $5 a month and have access to dozens of long, more in-depth mixed media tutorials and creative prompts, plus I add a new creative prompt and 2 new lessons to the group every month! What's more, is members can upload 2 paintings a month for feedback from me if they wish. Not bad for $5 a month eh? Not a memeber? No worries, you can watch the timelapse of the creating of this painting in the player below or enroll in Critique Club here.

Painting this portrait with new media was challenging, yet enjoyable. As you can see in the time-lapse above there were times when it didn't look too promising but that's the thing with painting, you need to push through the "hot mess" stage to get to your vision of a rendered painting. I hope this gives you some encouragement to try a portrait or some new media like Art Graf or Inktense and if you need more guidance check out the long narrated tutorial in Critique Club. Thanks for stopping bt and til next time happy crafting!
