We recently celebrated Herby's 5th Birthday by inviting a few friends over, playing games and eating cake.

She's really enjoying colouring at the moment and was very pleased to receive some new pens and colouring books for her Birthday.

We had a friend from church visit us one afternoon this week and she kindly showed us how she knits hats on a loom. She also loaned Herby one of her looms with some wool and started her off making a hat for Cosby.

We were able to visit a new park on another day with some friends. Herby and Alby took their bikes and tried out the mini BMX track at the park before we headed into the woods.

Herby and I finished off our plan of the lounge, using Herby's feet to measure so that we could draw it to scale.

We also attempted a simple family tree after reading about the civil war between King Stephen and Matilda. For history at the moment we're reading a mixture of passages from Our Island Story, 100 Great Stories from British History and the Usborne History of Britain.

One of our art and crafts this week was making stamps by drawing onto polystyrene sheets, cutting them out and mounting the shapes onto cardboard. We used them with paint to make cards.
