Storytelling, Jitsi, GoFiles and textile in collages

Today I spent some time preparing for the Storytelling workshop with Lewis Bush that I am booked to attend this weekend. This gave me an opportunity to review my latest 'Bunker Diaries' image compilation. I ordered 50 of the images as 6x4 prints for the workshop. I also explored Jitsi Meetings online workshop platform. I liked what I saw. Lewis uses Gofiles for sharing files and I was impressed with their setup. Both Jitsi and GoFiles seem user-friendly and did not ask for any personal information or registration. I added Jitsi and GoFiles to my list of preferred business support providers.

I also looked at the works of UK-based textile artist Sue Stone. I came across her on Axis Web, which I am a member of. Her profile can be accessed here: https://www.axisweb.org/p/suestone/#info. Sue is very talented and I think her artistic style and voice are quite unique. Her art works are intricate and complex.

Her textile and embroidery pieces look like family photographs and have the most incredible combinations of textures. They are in a sense liminal, as they seem to sit somewhere in between the textile works and paintings. The above two works gave me an idea to try some textile backgrounds in my 'Bunker Diaries' collages. I will certainly give it a go this week - will try and fit it in tomorrow.
