Arepa is a fried maize dough, something between a taco and a hushpuppy, with some kind of filling, and this place has them all. Their website describes them as "heavenly cornmeal pockets, a cornerstone of Venezuelan cuisine, crafted with love and attention to detail. Each arepa is a work of art in itself, with a crisp exterior and a soft, pillowy interior that cradles an array of delectable fillings." They were amazing! I had the Arepa Breakfast with eggs and bacon - sooooo good - and Sandie had their classic The Queen, Venezuelan chicken salad with avacados. And the fried plantains with queso were phenominal, I was told. My mouth is watering just writing this. This place is also filled with art! The mural on the outside of the building as well as all the art inside was painted by the owner. There were many humorous memes of famous paintings and personalities. What a fun and delicious place. Definitely on my list for a return visit. Jo Sumara | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
